Prioritization

If you want to do something, that will inevitably require sacrifice. You cannot accomplish your goals without investing time, and the essence of investing time inherently means it cannot go into other things.

I want to write. I want to be an author. To pursue that goal, I won’t have the time to put into other things.

If I have multiple passions, I can choose to pursue multiple of them, but that will mean they will all grow on a slower pace. Different progress will occur depending on the time I pour into them.

All of life is choices. How you spend your time is one of the most important decisions you will ever make.

Investing in this blog is important to me. That means that right now, writing posts needs to be a priority for me. Over the summer I will have very little time or energy to write new posts. I’m not even sure of the reception I will have to do so. This means that within the next 2 weeks, I need to protect putting time into writing posts. This means letting go of some of my sense of perfectionism and making ones that are good enough. This means putting in the time it takes to schedule posts, assemble newsletters, and schedule emails.

I may not have the resources or energy to create content as incredible as I would want, but if I want to continue to grow, then I need to be faithful even in the seasons where I am pouring from an emptier cup.
